According to Giorgio Agamben, the messianic thinking of Saint Paul opens a new way of understanding our human existence. Paul’s ho nyn kairos or ‘the time of the now’ is a specific experience of time in which new possibilities of conceiving human lifeare unfolded. Agamben furthermore argues that we should not interpret the Pauline letters as testimonies of the past, but rather as texts that point to a radical contemporary experience. In this article, this radical actualisation of the Pauline heritage is analyzed. It is argued that Agamben infuses Pauline thinking in his own understanding of contemporary political life. By applying a methodology of (messianic) displacement to both the contemporary experience of human political life and the past messianic experience of Pauline community, a new interpretation of the human form of life is introduced by Agamben. This new form of life testifies of a non-representable human residue beyond every possible political representational act. This human residue is according to Agamben the true ‘subject’ of a new political ethos. In his philosophical thinking, Paul’s ‘time of the now’ thereby becomes a messianic possibility of our own ‘present’ or our own current historical moment.

Selenium is an essential trace mineral that may not be included in your daily multi-vitamin, but very important to human health. It is essential to proper immune system function, as well as numerous metabolic pathways.
Remember chicken soup? Chicken is another good source of selenium and is one of the foods that build your immune system strength.
Like mushrooms? Researchers studying foods that build immune system strength by increasing white blood cell counts learned that shitake mushrooms worked.
The study concluded that beta glucans found in edible mushrooms increased white blood cell counts. White blood cells are primary infection fighters. Don't like mushrooms? Beta glucans are biologically active compounds found in numerous plant foods and some immune system dietary supplements.
So, in order to include some of the best foods that build your immune system in your weekly diet, eat salmon, tuna and/or seafood three or four times a week, chicken three or four times a week, a variety of fruits and vegetables including broccoli and mushrooms, whenever possible.
Relying on food for a healthy immune system may not be enough, depending on where you live or work.
A daily multi-vitamin can help and there are immune system supplements that contain beta glucans, herbs and other ingredients that can also help, particularly during cold and flu season.

Maybe you’ve never heard it before, but you really should be baking your own bread.
Why?
I think the number one reason everyone should bake their own bread is that it redeems you from years of bad health and medical bills. How so?
HOMEMADE BREAD IS HEALTHIER
It is much healthier to bake your own bread instead of buying bread that contains chemical additives, hydrogenated oils, unhealthy preservatives, and fattening sweeteners.
If you buy white bread you're also getting bread that is nutritionless, but don't be fooled, store bought whole wheat bread is just as bad for you.
A lot of times the whole wheat bread sold in stores isn't really made out of "whole meal" but is just white bread that is colored (using caramel) to make it appear like it's whole grain and healthy.
Store bought whole wheat bread also contains the same emulsifiers, and chemical by products that are in store bought white bread.
When you bake your own bread you never have to worry about these "hidden dangers" or chemicals in bread.
Instead you can control every ingredient that goes into your bread, and you'll know exactly how it is processed and created.

It’s much cheaper to buy all the ingredients for making bread separately, than buying them already made into bread. You can easily save $30 or $40 dollars a month, by baking your own bread. This might not sound like much but over time, believe me, it adds up.
This is especially true if you buy as many of your bread ingredients as you can, in the bulk department of a supermarket.

My favorite reason for baking bread, is that, if you bake the right kind of bread (like whole wheat bread) it can be a great way to help you lose pounds or maintain a healthy weight.
I’m sure you’ve heard the myth before that bread is really fattening, it’s a myth at least for homemade whole wheat bread.
Store bought bread really is fattening because of all the extras that large scale manufacturers stuff their bread with.
Manufacturers do this to give their bread longer shelf life and to make the bread look more appealing so they’ll get more customers to buy their bread.
These big corporate CEO’s could care less if their bread causes you to pack on pounds. You’ve got to remember, after all, that they’re only in it for the money.
But if you bake your own whole wheat bread you’ll have a truly wholesome bread that will help you to achieve the healthy body and goal weight you desire.

Exercise revs up your metabolism, increasing your rate of weight loss. It strengthens your heart by pumping more blood, lowers blood pressure and reduces your cholesterol levels.
Modify your diet as you reach your goal weight, adding variety in the form of foods that you love to eat. Add some regular aerobic exercise (walking, jogging, skating, etc.). Before you know it, you will feel better, look better, and be living a healthier lifestyle.
