Supporters! Let's clean up America for Ron Paul,
While others are relaxing at barbeques with family and friends this Labor Day weekend let's clean up America for Ron Paul! You can work one day or all three it's entirely up to you. Pick up one bag or twenty, it's all good.
During my 38 mile walk from my home to my state (NH) capital I saw a lot of trash on the side of the road. It occurred to me that, like the walk, a clean-up effort might be a positive way to get some attention to the campaign.
My vision is that Ron Paul supporters all over the country organize their own efforts. You can clean up the sides of roads, parks or even beaches. My suggestion would be to at least go where there are lots of people. Bring some signs to stick in the ground (while you are cleaning), wear your favorite Ron Paul t-shirt and don't forget to bring some literature to hand out to people that are curious about Ron Paul.

Just a Toenail for the Campaign :)
This past Saturday I stepped out onto my front porch at 5:00 am. I was greeted by a independent videographer and a photographer from Foster's Daily Democrat. The videographer, Mike Comeau, was there to document the walk, he followed me throughout the day and I'll be sure to post his finished video here. The photographer from Foster's was there to take pictures for a follow-up piece they were doing. This is the one thing, in regards to my walk, I really didn't think through. I had my picture taken over and over. If you know me you know I despise being photographed. Oh well, I tried to take it in stride.
I finally left my house at 5:30am. This first leg of the journey took just under two hours. I didn't have a sign, (someone had stolen it from my lawn a week prior) just my iPod and backpack full of CD's and literature. I made it to the Barrington Irving station at just after 7:00am. I was greeted by the same Foster's photographer, Jeff and my grandparents. I wasn't due into that stop until between 7:30-8:30am but I didn't want to wait around so started on my way shortly after getting there but as I was leaving a few supporters showed up and a Foster's reporter. So, I turned around and did a short interview, took a few pictures, borrowed a sign and then was on my way for real. I felt fantastic. No pain. Not the least bit tired. I had 7 miles down...only 31 left to go.

FOOD DRIVE on the day of the Family Walk!
Tomorrow , supporters of presidential candidate Ron Paul have organized a food drive to benefit the New Hampshire Food Bank in conjunction with the Ron Paul Family Walk.
Paul and 30 members of his family will be holding a rally at Veterans Park in Manchester, New Hampshire followed by canvassing. The Paul campaign hopes to knock on 50, 000 doors by the end of the weekend.
Ron Paul HQ, the grassroots organization, will have a truck at the rally to collect food. The truck can hold up to 20, 000 pounds of food, so organizers are encouraging supporters to not be shy about the size of their donations. They will also be accepting cash donations.
Ron Paul HQ was inspired by efforts of other supporters across the country participating in similar community action. From spamming food banks with food to cleaning up trash on playgrounds, Ron Paul supporters hope to show others that private charities are superior to government welfare programs. Not only do they foster community bonds and often run more efficiently, but they also do so without forced participation through taxation.
The rally will start at 9:30 a.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the community as well as hear Dr. Paul spread the message of freedom.

Kelly on FreeMindsTV.com :)
These guys were great. It's a long show. My segment is near the end but I suggest watching the whole show. Before you make fun of me please remember I had just walked 28 miles (and still had 10 left to go). I'm sweaty and rambling a little.
PS
I lost the other toenail. I should change that blog title to: "Just Two Toenails for the Campaign." Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY.

Barack's Secret Service Protection
I know this is old news but I wanted to talk about it anyway. At first like everyone I was impressed by Mr. Obama. What's not to be impressive. He's intelligent, young, handsome, well spoken and more. Yet now the more I read about him the more I wonder what else there is to this campaign. What else besides the pretty face I mean. He seems less and less a man and more and more a puppet. Who's pulling those strings...I have some ideas but I'm not entirely sure.
I've also found some of his and/or his wife's comments somewhat disturbing. I'm bothered by the idea that his skin color seems to be such a major piece of his political appeal to so many and he (and/or his campaign) doesn't shy away from using it to his advantage as much as possible. When discussing the secret service detail with the media (60 Minutes) his wife was quoted as saying, "I don't lose sleep over it because the realities are that, you know, as a black man, you know, Barack can get shot going to the gas station, " she responded.
What? Are you serious? What does being black have to do with it? Seriously? I'm sorry but how many black men in expensive suits get shot in gas stations a year? And how many of women, whites, hispanics, gays etc get killed?
